Gulbangi Nguluwan

Who We Are

Westbourne Cares Indigenous Corporation (WCIC) is a 100% Aboriginal-owned and operated organisation dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our flagship program, Gulbangi Nguluwan – Echoing Voices, reflects our commitment to preserving, revitalising, and sustaining Dharawal/Tharawal languages.
By combining the ancient knowledge of our Elders with innovative tools and technology, we foster meaningful connections to cultural identity. We work to ensure that these languages remain a vibrant and living part of everyday life.

Our Vision

A future where Dharawal/Tharawal languages are widely spoken, deeply respected, and celebrated as integral to identity, pride, and cultural continuity. We envision empowered communities where language becomes a bridge between generations and a pathway to self-determination.

Our Core Values

A future where Dharawal/Tharawal languages are widely spoken, deeply respected, and celebrated as integral to identity, pride, and cultural continuity. We envision empowered communities where language becomes a bridge between generations and a pathway to self-determination.

Our Impact

Through Gulbangi Nguluwan – Echoing Voices, we’ve successfully reconnected families, schools, and communities with their linguistic heritage. By engaging Elders to record and narrate stories, we ensure that their voices echo through time. Our education and engagement initiatives have inspired a new generation of learners to take pride in their identity and champion the revitalisation of Dharawal/Tharawal languages.
