Join us for an engaging, hands-on exploration of Aboriginal culture and language, where students will discover the significance of nature, storytelling, and animals through the lens of First Nations traditions.
Through storytelling and hands-on activities, we aim to inspire curiosity, respect, and a deeper connection to Australia’s First Nations heritage.
What's included
Beaudie Cullen brings this engaging 2-hour workshop to your school, offering an immersive introduction to Aboriginal culture and language. Students will experience a Welcome to Country, learn about the diversity of Aboriginal nations, and gain insights into Australia’s First Nations heritage.
Interactive activities include holding a yarning stick, participating in a yarning circle, and engaging in a language quiz to explore Dharawal/Tharawal words. Storytelling and a high-energy activity keep students involved and inspired throughout the session.
Teachers receive a lesson plan to extend learning, making it easy to integrate these cultural themes into future classroom lessons. This workshop fosters curiosity, respect, and connection to Aboriginal culture.
